Ginger Hopkins Affiliates With AGI
AGI Aspen Group International LLC is pleased to announce affiliation with one of the nation’s most respected student assessment experts, Ginger Hopkins. Clients who attended AGI’s recent Wisdom Sharing Conference in San Diego had the pleasure of meeting Ginger and experiencing first-hand the depth of her understanding of data and how to use it to judge student and district performance.
Ginger, who resides in West Union, South Carolina, brings to AGI an extensive and distinguished record of professional experience with over 35 years of experience in public education and in the education industry. Her teaching experience ranged from elementary school to high school to adult education, as well as general education, gifted education, and special education. As an administrator, she served as a school principal, grant writer and coordinator, and assistant superintendent.
Serving as a Vice President at Northwest Evaluation Association and ACT, Inc, she managed product development, marketing and communication, sales, support, professional development, government relations, accommodations, and scoring and reporting service teams. Ginger’s responsibilities extended to all 50 states and over 30 countries.
Ginger’s passion has been and continues to be to ensure that each and every learner achieves success, as determined by their personal passions, strengths, and aspirations.
Ginger is the founder of Sepati Ingera, an educational consulting company named for the Masai response to “Kaserian ingera”, which means “How are the children?” The response, “Sepati ingera” means “all the children are well,” an indication that the whole society is well.
AGI Senior Partners Linda Dawson and Randy Quinn welcomed Ginger as a key added resource for its school board clients, all of whom are challenged to effectively judge the performance of the students and districts over which they hold ultimate responsibility.
“Effective Results monitoring always is one of the most daunting challenges our clients face,” said Dawson. “Many boards and districts struggle with the challenge to choose the best indicators/assessments of authentic student performance and use the resulting data to make informed judgments about individual and overall performance.
Quinn added, “This is where Ginger’s experience and strength can be of enormous help. She understands not only data and how to apply it, but she also has deep understanding of Coherent Governance and the importance of appropriate use of data in this governing environment.”
“I have personally applied the principles of Coherent Governance in all the roles I have filled over the last 15 years and am a big believer in this approach. So, I’m especially excited to team up with Randy and Linda in support of this important work,” noted Ginger. “My personal passion is making sure that each student is on a path for personal success upon graduation and I believe that this governance model is a key component for making that happen, so I welcome the opportunity to collaborate with schools and districts seeking to leverage data as part of their commitment to students.”
Ginger is an available resource to all Aspen clients. To engage her services, contact Linda, Randy or Ginger directly. She is available to assist boards, superintendents and key members of their administrative staff, and can tailor her work to the level of understanding and need, depending on the audience. In other words, she speaks “board language” and “data expert language” with equal fluency.
